Dear Parents,

I hope everyone has a relaxing, spring-like break. When we return to school our kindergartners and the first and second graders will be taking the Direct Reading Assessment (DRA). The state allows us to test anytime between April 17th and May 10th. When Arbor Heights staff decides specific dates we will be testing, I will let you know.

I want to encourage the Arbor Heights community to continue reporting any suspicious activities to Seattle School District Security (252-0707), School Safety Hotline (298-7510) or the Seattle Police.

Sincerely,

Barry S. Dorsey

Principal

Spring Pictures

You should have received your child's spring picture packet. You may either return the entire packet of pictures to school, a partial packet of pictures and payment for pictures you are keeping or full payment of the picture packet. Class pictures will be delivered to the school soon

It is so clean!!

Mr. Wilkie said the pancake breakfast was a great success, several people caught pancakes as they were flying through the air! Thank you to everyone who came to help with the pancake breakfast and to those that participated in the spring clean-up. The grounds and the cafeteria look great!!

Student Dismissal Reminders

As the weather improves and students want to visit their friends after school, please be reminded that these plans must be made in advance. Any changes to a child's dismissal from school requires a note, if it involves another Arbor Heights student, we must have a note from both families. We do not allow students to use the phone to make after school plans. If one or more of the children are bus riders we must have a note from both parents. The notes must include the name of the child visiting, the name of the child they are going to visit, the bus route number and stop, and the date of the visit. We need to be assured that both parents are aware of the plans. There are many instances when a child tells us that they are going to be picked up after school by a friend's parent, only to be left at school because the plans were not confirmed. Thank you for understanding our concern that children not only get home safely but that their parent/guardian knows where they will be.

Do we have current home and emergency phone numbers for you?

No school next week, April 10 - 14 Spring Break - School will resume at the regular time on Monday, April 17th!
