Parent Bulletin
January 6, 2000

Dear Parents,

I hope the holiday season was fun filled and rewarding. This week Mr. Glen Boyd joined the Arbor Heights staff. Glen will be teaching primary reading groups in the mornings.

Before the break I mentioned that we wanted to replace the sofa and chairs that are on the second floor. If you know of any replacement furniture that would be suitable, please call me (933-5350).

The mildew smell appears to be gone from the building. A crew of maintenance teams will be here from January 18th through February 2nd to do a variety of repairs which will hopefully prevent any recurrence of the dampness in the building.

The Safety Committee has been working to update our emergency plan. More information will be coming home about individual packets for our students soon.

Student Recognition Awards were not presented in December because of the short month. We will acknowledge four (4) students per classroom over the next several months to allow each student in every classroom an opportunity to be recognized sometime during the school year.

Mrs. Crichton
We wish to thank all of you that have expressed your concern regarding Mrs. Crichton's husband. Mr. Crichton passed away on Saturday, December 18th from cancer. Mr. Crichton was a highly respected professor at Seattle Pacific University in addition to being an avid marathon runner and mountain climber. Please feel free to send a card or note to Mrs. Crichton via the office and we will forward them to her.

Important Information
Tours for kindergarten students enrolling for the 2000/2001 school year are this month. Please call the school office to sign up for a tour if you will have a child entering kindergarten next year. If you have received a letter from the transportation office that your child is out of cluster and will not be eligible for transportation to Arbor Heights next year, you will want to put in your request for next year's placement in February.
