No School On Friday
Friday, January 30th is a No School Day for Seattle Public Schools. It is
the day between semesters. While our students are home, enjoying the long
weekend, teachers will be working on assessing your child's 2nd quarter
progress and transferring grades onto report cards! You will be receiving
those reports on Friday, February 6th.
Snow Make Up Day
The snow make up day (for January 12th) will be Thursday, February 12th.
This date was originally scheduled for the first day of the mid-winter break.
There will be no school from Friday, February 13th through Wednesday,
February 18th. The first day back to school from the mid-winter break will
be Thursday, February 19th.
Science/Math/Technology Fair
Be looking for a packet of information coming home with your child about our
upcoming SCIENCE/MATH/TECHNOLOGY FAIR. This evening event is scheduled for
February 26th. As in the past, we encourage parents to offer guidance and
support to their child(ren) but that students do their own work as much as
possible. The packets will be going home on February 3rd. More information
about this spectacular Fair will be mentioned in future parent bulletins.
Lunch Choices
As you may have already heard - students no longer have to pre-order their
lunches. Students can pick either of the two choices on the menu when they
come to the lunchroom. This saves all of us time and makes the lunchroom
more "user-friendly".
Wonderful Volunteers
Lori Boyer, our Parent Volunteer Coordinator, tells me that Arbor Heights
volunteers have "worked" 4,456 hours at this school so far this year!! What
a tremendous accomplishment! Give yourself a pat-on-the-back, Volunteers,
and a great big Thank You from all of us at Arbor Heights. You are making a
difference in our children's lives. To learn more about what is happening
here at Arbor Heights please join us at the February 12th PTSA meeting from
7:00 - 8:00 p.m. in the lunchroom. Childcare will be provided.
Sincerely,
Lynn Fuller
Acting Principal
