Parent Bulletin
April 1, 1999

Dear Parents,
The staff has approved the grade level configuration for next year. There will be multi-age classrooms which consist of: 1-2, 2-3, 3-4 and 4-5. There will also be two same grade classrooms for 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 5th grades. In addition there will be one same grade 4th grade classroom. The configuration decision was a very exhausting process. I want to thank everyone for your efforts.
The district draft of the Academic Achievement Plan has been sent to the district. I plan to review this tentative plan with the PTSA membership at May's meeting.
Spring is here (I think), and students typically begin to be less focused and more antsy. We plan to offer more positive recognition and reemphasize the expectations and consequences of disruptive behavior.

Sincerely,
Barry Dorsey
Principal

Earth Day Project
Thanks to Mr. Ahlness, for the sixth year in a row Arbor Heights students will be involved in the Earth Day Groceries Project. We will be decorating nearly 500 bags for our Arbor Heights Safeway with beautiful artwork and environmental messages. On Earth Day, April 22nd (or maybe even during the whole week), Safeway will bag up groceries with those beautiful bags - showing our community that the students of Arbor Heights care about their world. Shop at Safeway during Earth Week and get an Earth Day Grocery Bag! The web site is http://www.earthdaybags.org

PTSA News
SCRIP News: New! You can now use SCRIP to pay on your Lamonts account! If you plan to use SCRIP for your payment, take your payment into the store. Please do not send SCRIP in the mail! The new SEE's catalog is filled with delectable treats to fill our baskets. Stop by the SCRIP table and check it out. Don't forget a one pound gift certificate is still only $10.70, a pound of SEE's Candy is $11.70! That's a $1.00 savings to you and the school still makes a profit.
