Please join us for the April meeting of the PTA this evening at 7:00
p.m. We will meet in the lunchroom and child care will be available in
the gym. Tonight we are in for a special treat. Following a short
business meeting, Patty Wallace, a counselor at Group Health will be
speaking to us on the topic of "parenting styles". It promises to be a
wonderful opportunity for all of our parents and I hope you will plan to
attend. Because we want to allow plenty of time for questions our meeting
will run from 7:00 - 8:30 tonight.
Talent Show Tomorrow
Our annual Talent Show will be held tomorrow at 1:30 in the
lunchroom. Feel free to join us if you're not busy.
Spring Vacation
The Seattle Public Schools will be closed the week of April 14th for
spring vacation. I hope your family has a nice break.
The IOWA Testing
The week following spring vacation we will begin to administer the
Iowa Test of Basic Skills. You can help your child do his/her best on
this test by being sure your child:
- gets plenty of rest.
- eats a good breakfast each day.
- receives encouragement from you to do well.
- understands that the testing period is important.
Reading Challenge
Reminder: The kids need to read 2,000 books by April 30th if they
want to hear me RAP. Spring vacation is a great time to read. Have your
children jot down the title of all the books they read over the break and
send them to school on the 21st.
