As this school year winds down, I want to take this opportunity to
thank all of you for the support you have given to our school this year.
Our active parents and business partners are a big reason why our school
is so popular. I especially want to thank our outgoing PTA Board members.
They have put in a great deal of time and effort in organizing all of our
PTA activities. Terry McDermott has provided excellent leadership to this
group for the past two years and she deserves the thanks of all of us.
Summer Reading
June is the month that we emphasize summer reading to all of our
students. A person from the Seattle Public Library will be here tomorrow
to talk with all of our students about using the library over the summer.
I hope you will make an effort to support this focus.
Theme Days
Some of our students have approached me about the idea of having
some special days as the year comes to a close. We have decided on the
following:
Wednesday, June 11th, will be "hat day".
All students are
encouraged to wear their favorite hat that day.
Thursday, June 12th, will be "twin day".
Students will be
encouraged to find a partner and dress as twins that day.
Friday, June 13th, will be "dress like a staff member" day.
Students will be encouraged to come to school dressed as a staff
member. They might want to wear a sign as so many of us look
alike.
The Lending Library
If you have borrowed an item from our lending library (found in the
main hall) it is time to return it to Ms. Boyer. Thank you.
West Seattle's Fun Run
If you are interested in information about the Salty's West Seattle
5K Fun Run call 932-HELP. They have a special event for children.
Last Banking Day
The last day for school banking is next Thursday, June 12th.
