PTA DATE CHANGE

The date for our next P.T.A. meeting will be Wednesday, March l3th. We moved it back one day because of a conflict with the 5th graders Puberty Night. The P.T.A. meeting will begin at 7:00 p.m. and childcare will be available in the gym. Mr. Femiano, one of our teachers, will be speaking on the topic of practical things parents can do at home to help children improve their reading skills. It should be a great meeting. I hope to see you there.

CARNIVAL - HUGE SUCCESS

Our school carnival last Friday was a big success. Not only did the P.T.A. make a lot of money, but a good time was had by all. I want to thank each of you who volunteered your time to help make the carnival so wonderful. Special thanks to Karen Haines, Donna Carreon, and all of the members of the Board for their leadership in this event.

TUTORING KITS AVAILABLE FOR HOME USE

Lori Boyer, our Parent Volunteer Coordinator, has been putting together a variety of kits which parents can use at home to help their child in the areas of Reading, Language Arts and Math. The kits are available for check out in our library. Stop by sometime and look them over.

DOG DO'S AND DOG DON'TS

Dog Do's - If you're walking your dog near the school grounds, please keep your dog on a leash and obey the "scoop law". Dog Don'ts - Please don't walk your dog through the wood chips under our playscape on the playground. Some dogs have been using this as a "restroom" and it creates an unhealthy condition for our kids. Thank you.

MATH/TECHNOLOGY/SCIENCE FAIR

Our Math/Technology/Science Fair is coming up on March 21st. The deadline for turning in a Topic Sheet (page two of the packet that was sent home) is Friday, March 8th. I hope you will encourage your child to participate. Thank you.

PARENTS OF 5TH GRADERS

Assignment packets for middle school registration were sent to homes early this week. The packets contain registration information and instructions. If you have any questions, please call 28l-6456 for assistance.
