There is a great resource on Edgate
    (http://www.seattleschools.egate.com)
Go to Today's Feature for Educators and look at the bar below the
second feature entitled On The Web Today. It is a bar which includes
    the following links:
Experience Today a four page lesson plan delivered daily in PDF format
online to accompany the next day's news from USA Today newspaper.
GeoBee Challenge sponsored by National Geographic Online provides a
    daily geography challenge.
Word of the Day sponsored by Merriam Webster provides the word, its
definitions, uses it in a sentence, and gives its roots.
Today's Weather from AcuWeather.com has a map of the US which students
can animate, information for local weather, weather headlines and
    more.
Demo of the Day is a science demonstration for students to do which is
    presented by Bill Nye.
The Daily Almanac is provided by the Learning Network and has all
sorts of interesting facts about the day.
SAT Question of the Day for high school students is a great tool to
help prepare your students for the test. It provides a daily question
which they solve and submit. If the problem is solved incorrectly the
student is lead through steps showing how to think the problem through
to its correct solution. There are hints provided before submission if
    the student asks for them.
Picture of the Day for elementary connects to the Smithsonian
Magazine's Kid's Castle where there is a lot more than the picture of
the day for the students to explore if you want them to.
