    >From the Tech Forem minutes ...

    >We are aware that some schools are purchasing Servers with Win2000.
    >Please do not start up Windows 2000 server, it is good, but can cause
    >major problems if it is started up incorrectly.

We order all of our new computers with Windows 2000 on them. Then we
install Win98 on them. We do NOT want mixed operating system in our
networked labs. Sometime in the future we may return the computers to
Win2000, but not before it is more stable and we are more ready for it.

And, Win2000 can give you major problems. It just isn't "ready for Prime
Time". The warnings at the Tech Forem meeting were not over stated.

Also, please keep in mind that if you thank that you are just setting up a
computer in your room so it isn't in, say the Business Ed network, if you
connect it to the Internet, it IS in the Business Ed network! Every
computer in your building(s) that are connected to the Internet ARE on the
    same Network.
