--- TIC-TECH message:
We want to follow up on this and determine where the bottleneck is. Can you
tell us:
1. Are you seeing slowness when using OWA from Ballard, or from home?
2. Does the problem exist at all workstations or only one or a few? If a
few, are they in the same general area of the school?
3. If from Ballard, is your browser configured so that it doesn't go through
the Bess filter for seattleschools.org sites?
4. Which OWA server are you connecting to - edumail or webmail?
Thanks,
Judy

Subject: Tic-Tech: About OWA
--- TIC-TECH message:
Folk down there in administration we got a real problem here. At Ballard
we published the email addresses for teachers to the community and more
and more of the community is starting to use this as means of
communication. So I get more and more emails.
Problem: I don't get better and faster service and it is starting to take
a ridiculously LONG time to answer emails. If the parents who write to me
had to go with this piece of lousy GUI of OWA they wouldn't bother to take
the time to write, they would just use the POTS instead.
My girlfriend who is beautiful, loving, has wonderful taste in men and who
is patient and longsuffering is beginning to think that more and more I am
wanting to spend time with OWA rather than with her. I am running out of
excuses.
I have been thinking about leading a rebellion here at Ballard and
refusing to use OWA as a GUI until it is faster but I don't have the time
to get out those emails using OWA so I may have to use cks. Good ol'
telnet, cks, ah those were the days when you could really count on
computers...<G>
