--- TIC-TECH message:
Judy and Mary. I have repeatedly told IS that every classroom but two in
Ingraham has an Internet connected computer. The two rooms without them
specifically do NOT want a computer in their rooms. I have NEVER been told
of a "verification of machine readiness at Ingraham". This is the first
time that I have ever heard of it. I was NEVER told of the teacher
accounts having been prepared for Ingraham. I just lucked into the
information when I was talking to a secretary on another manner. I still
haven't been told why the Office staff accounts have NOT be setup.
And, Mary...I put in your mail box several days ago a form giving you all
of your account information, a screen by screen guide to loging in for the
first time, and a seven to nine page guide to using your Exchange e-mail
account. Please check your mail box in the office. I would have given you
this information a month ago, but on the list of accounts that had been
created from downtown, your name was NOT included. Just as an aside, I
turned into IS a list of teachers at Ingraham who had given me their
Applications but who accounts had not been created and I never got any kind
of reply.
And Judy, you say ">There has been a coordination problem in getting
verification of machine
>readiness at Ingraham." I have NEVER been asked anything about machine
readiness or ANYTHING ELSE". Every classroom except the two above has an
Internet connected computer. They are all Pentiums and nearly all of them
are 133 MHz or faster. EVERY member of the office staff has a DELL Pentium
133 MHz or better. Everyone of them has Internet Explorer 5.0 or 5.5.
EVERYONE of them has Outlook 2000 installed, configured, and tested.
And "We have someone set up to work specifically on resolving this issue."
That's the first that I have heard of this. Could I perhaps find out who
this person is?
People...Is is giving absolutely no support at all on this Exchange account
conversion, at least to Ingraham High School. They blame us (me) for not
giving them information that I was never asked for or even told about.
They have not returned calls or e-mails. They may be ticked off because I
did all of the on-site work myself. Therefore, it wasn't "professionally"
done. (The definition of "professional" is getting paid to do a job). I
satup the Office Staffs' computers between 5:00-7:00 am, so I certainly
wasn't paid to do it. Why do I do that? Because IS wanted to come up and
kick the Office staff off of their for 15 minutes to two hours each. And,
not one of our office staff wanted IS people on their computers. On too
many cases in the past, this has ended with computers losing all of their
data). If IS wants to come out to Ingraham and do the job RIGHT, they are
more than welcome by me, but by no one else in the building.
