--- TIC-TECH message:
Mark,
One thing I did to make the paperwork a little easier, was to fill out
neatly in advance an application for a seattleschools.org account. I filled
in the stuff that is the same for everyone-school, phone, mail stop, etc.
Then at a staff meeting I had folks fill in the rest, emphasizing to print
neatly in block letters (part of the slowness of getting accounts activated
is due to the fact that the inputter has to be able to read all the
applications).
Then I gave them all to my principal as one bunch for her sig and then sent
off to Mary Baker as one bunch.

Subject: Tic-Tech: changing accounts at a school
--- TIC-TECH message:
Hi All,
Wondered if anyone would have information to share, advice to give, etc
on how to effectively deal with the the following:
Our school will be wired this summer. Today we were just given forms to
change all district staff accounts to seattleschools.org.
Any experiences, good or bad, any advice, suggestions, or tips would be
much appreciated. I'm reeling, looking at the enormity of not only
reconfiguring my own email, hundreds of mailto links on web pages,
subscriptions to many lists, etc - but also looking at the rest of the
staff at this building, many just starting out with email, and figuring
out how in the world to help them with this. I guess we have a week,
then cks is gone for us, except for a .forward file. Yikes.
Thanks in advance - Mark
