    Hello All,
    Forward from John Ferguson:

RE: Tic-Tech: Altiris Vision - Reviews? Comments? From: Jim Meyer

The Network Analyst group here at Information Services is evaluating both
the, Altiris Vision (from SmartStuff Software) and the NetOp School (from
Danware (netop.com)). We are conducting test for; 1. Ease of installation.
    2. Ease of use. 3. Functionality. 4. Security. 5. Cost. and 6. Resource
    overhead.

So far the results of the testing with been promising. Steve Simmons @
Sealth High School has purchased the NetOp software and is really pleased
with it. The Altiris Vision is being tested on the Business Ed domain at
West Seattle High School, and is impressing every teacher who sees it.

These applications are inherently dangerous because of the "Remote
Control" feature that allows the teacher to take control of the student
machine. We want to ensure unauthorized persons cannot access machines.

Fran Clifton, the analyst for DTA, is investigating the purchase of
licenses. We will keep you informed of our progress and recommendations.
