    --- TIC-TECH message:
I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions for how I might do the
    following.

I am trying to import data from a text file into Excel. I want to be able
to sort on one of the fields in the file.

Specifically I am outputting to a text file a bunch of information off my
library database - title, author, etc. , about 12 fields in all. Because
there are so many fields the data gets wrapped around so that a single
record occupies two lines in the text file. It looks something like this:

THE CAT IN THE HAT GEISEL, THEODORE
    12/30/2000
                    3027699000000231 15.00

When I import this into Excel, (I've tried both fixed and comma delimited)
each line gets treated as a unique record. What I want is to somehow get
all this info on one line. Ideally the vendor's (Follett) software would
give me this option, but it doesn't, and it forces me to choose all 12
fields, not just the three that I need.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

    Thank you.

    -Sean
