Summer -- FrontPage 2000 Course:
Description:
This course is a 4-week online course, supplemented with hands-on lab
instruction, designed for faculty and staff who would like to learn web
design using the FP 2000 web editor. The course will cover a variety of
topics specifically related to the planning, designing and managing of
educational web sites. Participants will learn how to use FP 2000 to
create and publish creative and professional web sites. In addition,
participants will have the added value of collaborating with colleagues
in an online learning environment.
Registration:
To register for this course, go to: http://at-campus.net/pscsched/ and
select "Classes by Category", "Teacher Training", "HiTech Teacher
Training Project", and then "FrontPage 2000" Check "Enroll in Class" and
complete the registration process. There is a $25.00 fee for this
course.
Instructor:
Catharine L. Reznicek , M.Ed. serves as the Distance Learning Specialist
for the Puget Sound Center and Shoreline Community College in Seattle,
Washington. Her primary responsibilities center on supporting faculty
and student success in their use of technology for teaching and
learning. She also teaches web design, Internet, and basic HTML both
online and in hybrid classrooms. She holds a Master of Education degree
from the University of Washington in Instructional Technology/Curriculum
and Instruction.
Schedule:
Week 0: July 2-8: Introduction to the online learning environment (Bb),
overview of the course, general technology review, preliminary project
planning.
Week 1: July 9-15: Planning and developing your site. Usability,
accessibility and web design
· July 13th: Hands-on lab with instruction. 9:00 - 12:00 PSC Lab 102*
Week 2: July 16-22: Content design. Determining the navigation and
organization of your site.
· July 20: Open lab with instructor support: 9:00 - 12:00 PSC Lab 102*
Week 3: July 23-29: Designing with tables and frames. Using graphics
effectively.
· July 27: Hands-on lab with instruction. 9:00 - 12:00 PSC Lab 102*
Week 4: July 30-August 3: Pulling it all together. Publishing your site.
Show and tell.
· August 3: Project presentations, discussion, and fun! 9:00 - 12:00 PSC

*Hands-on labs will be held at the Puget Sound Center's Canyon Park
