--- TIC-TECH message:
Hi all...
In response to Peggy Newton's email, I would like to clear up one thing for
everyone.
IT stands for Instructional Technology. We are the people who help your
staff with the Technology Planning, mentor teachers in integration of
technology into the curriculum and lead requested staff training. There is
one of us assigned to each building in the district, but we do not handle
work requests. We work with curriculum and staff development.
IS stands for Information Services. These people are your Network Analysts.
There is a network analyst assigned to each building in the district.
Network analysts come out to help with networking problems, help with server
set up, etc. Work requests go through IS help desk.
Work control is called if you want a machine fixed when it is not under
warranty.
It gets confusing because we all deal with technology but in different ways.
