    --- TIC-TECH message:
    Tic-Techers,

I have used both an Infocus and a Hitachi.

While using a projector, the background noise of the fan in the projector
    can interfere with classroom discussions.

I found the older Infocus to be much noisier compared to the newer Hitachi.
This can be important for some teachers more than others.

Concerning the "short throw" distance of one Hitachi's moel beam of light
over the other, ours is a short throw. The positive is that it is up near
the wall and out of the way of the students. They can gather around close to
the screen without being in front of the beam being blinded when turning
around or doing their best rabbit ear imitations. The negative is the odd
trapezoid shape where the top is bigger than the bottom. This has not been a
problem withb the students. I vote for a short throw over a longer one.
