RE: Clarification on Training Fees for Windows Based Classes at
Information Services
During the Summer, Information Services offered Windows-based courses to the
School District employees without cost. The goal was to encourage staff and
teachers in the schools to participate in training opportunities during the
summer months. Several staff and teachers took advantage of the opportunity
last summer. Information Services thanks all those teachers and staff who
participated in training during the summer months.
Fall quarter has arrived and with it the return of the training fees for
Windows-based classes. The purpose of the $15.00 fee, payable to Seattle
Public Schools, is to cover the costs associated with the production of
training materials distributed at the classes. Since there was some
confusion generated over the return to Information Services training fees
schedule, we wanted to clear up any confusion and provide you with the
opportunity to cancel your registration for any of the classes bearing fees,
if you do not wish to continue to participate.
The Windows-based classes are listed below:
Windows I: Basics
Windows II: File Management
Networking Basics
Troubleshooting Networked Computers
Word I: Basics
Word II: Page Layout & Formatting
Word III: Tables & Columns
Word IV: Mail Merge
Excel I: Basics
Excel II: Functions & Worksheets
Excel III: Charts & Other Functions
Access I
Access II
Access III
PowerPoint Basics
PowerPoint II
Web Publishing I
Web Publishing II
Web Publishing III
Web Publishing IV
If you would like to cancel your registration, please contact the Helpdesk
at 252-0333 or email IS Training.
We sincerely hope that all registered participants in these classes will
still choose to participate. However, we understand that you may not choose
to remain enrolled since the training fee does exist.
If you have any questions or comments, please contact the Helpdesk.
