-tictech message:
Hi all,
This morning I was installing lab software on a new Dell in the lab. After
installing the four or fifth CD program, I placed another CD in the drive.
The autorun program brought up the install window. As soon as I
double-clicked the install icon, I heard an awful noise and my heart sank.
At first I didn't realize what the sound was but I knew I wasn't good. I
pushed the button to open the drive and there inside the drive was a
completely shattered (new) CD for Kidspiration. I am certain the CD was
laying flat in the drive (I'm very cautious), but nothing like this has ever
happened to me before. Has anyone had this happen to them? I assume I must
replace the drive or shake out the gazillon pieces inside (I vote replace).
What in the world would cause such a thing to happen?
