-tictech message:
Hi all,
I recently learned that the Seattle school district new teacher computers
will come installed with gradebook software (Easy Grade Pro, I think) in the
upper grades but not in the elementary schools. We at Montlake have been
using Easy Grade Pro for some time and find it to be a real timesaver when
it comes to creating seating charts, keeping track of student work, and
keeping track of student homework.
Apparently the decision to keep primary schools from having the software was
made by Education Directors and the Curriculum, Instruction and Assessment
Office." There is reportedly a feeling there that gradebook software goes
against our move to standards based assessment.
I wonder if Montlake is unique in using gradebook software? Are there others
out there who use gradebook software now or think it would be helpful to use
it when the new computers arrive this next year?
Thanks in advance for sharing your thoughts on this.
