    An update:
    Thanks to super sleuth Mike Gross, we now have an explanation of why our
    student Dell computers would not boot up: bad processors. Eight of them.
    So far. Out of 50. So, if others start experiencing similar problems, you
    might check the processor - not exactly the first place one would look.

    ps - speaking of these machines, how about that cheapo cd front cover for
    the cpu? The button mechanism is a joke. I could have designed a better
    functioning piece of plastic in junior high school - yikes. We just rip 'em
    off.
