    -tictech message:

To those who'd like to extend the boundaries of their own learning
environment, I offer the following information on a few ed/tech discussion
lists. There are thousands more out there, on every conceivable topic.
Here are the ed lists I'm currently subscribed to:

    - edtech - very high volume (say 25-35 messages a day), dealing mostly with
technical issues in the ed environment, moderated by several folks. Lots of
Mac advice, too. Subscription info on web site:
http://www2.h-net.msu.edu/~edweb/ I've learned tons of very useful tech
stuff over the years from this list.

    - ednet - out of UMass, one of the oldest ed lists on the internet. Not
much traffic these days, but posts by Bonnie Bracey and Louis Schmier keep
it very interesting and enlightening. Subscription info on the website at
http://www.umass.edu/ednet/ or send an email message to:
listproc@lists.umass.edu On the first line of the message's body type:
    Subscribe Ednet (Your Name)

    - wwwedu - moderated by list veteran Andy Carvin, a pretty active list (5-10
messages a day), with lots of contributions by educators pushing the tech
envelope like Ted Nellen, Nancy Willard, Art Wolinsky, etc. List info on
the website: http://edwebproject.org/wwwedu.html or subscribe by sending a
    blank message to: wwwedu-subscribe@yahoogroups.com

    - digital divide - as the name implies, devoted to bridging the gap between
the tech haves and have nots. A very global list, also moderated by Andy
Carvin. Maybe 5-10 messages per day. Subscribe on the web site at
http://www.digitaldividenetwork.org or send an email message to
listserv@owa.benton.org. In the body of the message write the following:
    subscribe DIGITALDIVIDE your name

    - The Reading Teacher - a very active list (25-30 a day), *unmoderated* -
with lots of messages like "me too!", but occasional gems do pop up. Great
if you're into literacy instruction (who isn't?). Hosted by the
International Reading Association, and run by Don Leu, tech literacy guru
from UConn. Subscribe on the website at
    http://www.reading.org/publications/rt/rt_listserv.html or send an e-mail
message to listserv@bookmark.reading.org In the message window, type:
    SUBSCRIBE RTEACHER full name

There you go. If you have others to share, please pass on the info.
     Thanks - Mark
