Thanks, Wes. I thought your student pranksters tips were pretty
interesting. Glad I'm at an elementary school :) But we do have our share
of problems caused by students. The worst seems to be improperly logging
on.
The usual tech complaint from teachers is not being able to print or get to
the Internet. Probably 99 percent of these are because machines are not
logged on properly. In spite of repeated instruction to teachers, the
problem continues.
So I come to find out, it's not the teachers, it's probably the students -
and this really amazes me. Students are starting up computers or restarting
them. One teacher mentioned that we really ought to teach the kids about
starting up the machines properly. He has them start up his computers on
Monday morning - or whenever.
Well, I was just astounded. I just assumed students would NEVER restart a
computer, nor would they boot one up. That's the teacher's job. What's the
policy in your school? Or, are you kinda like us, not really having a
policy because it hasn't been a problem until now? Any thoughts much
appreciated. - Mark
