Folks,
When purchasing any technology products, a good idea is the check the
"Inside" page first. We list the tried and true products such as the HP
1200n.

Also Kathy Davis in purchasing does an outstanding job of sourcing the best
price for a product. Also your fiscal secretary has access to B2B at Dell
and Office Depot. B2B saves us money on each order.
If you plan to purchase a "low cost" inkjet, it should be considered
disposable. The low end inkjets also should not be considered a network
printer even though you can share them or use a Jetdirect box.
We are evaluating Jetdirect boxes and will have a flyer on the web soon.
Using the Jetdirect is the only supportable method to network your
non-networked printers.
Software:

In response to some of the postings about software purchases. All Microsoft
purchases should be purchased through the WSIPC Select Agreement. Our
purchasing department processes the orders using this agreement. These are
the very best prices you can get other than though the Microsoft Company
Store by an employee. You should buy the "license only" and NOT the
Software Assurance (SA) (it's a lease) unless you are going to be around for
three years to keep the software and hardware updated. You will also want
to purchase the media with your order. The prices are on the "inside site"
and I will attempt to make it more user friendly in the future.
Other software is available on the "Inside" and if you have a great place
you think should be listed let me know and I check it out.
Thanks!
