    -tictech message:

Rules of the Road for tictech, as of February 8, 2003. This message is sent
at the beginning of the month to all list members. Tictech is a moderated
email list for the discussion and sharing of technology related education
    issues in Seattle and beyond.

(February Thoughts: A few reminders about the "posting and replying
guidelines" below. Remember to include your full name and email address at
the end of messages you send to tictech. Adding your school name or position
isn't required, but it's helpful for list readers. Finally, in replying to a
message, please do not include the entire original message - unless it's
necessary for everyone to reread the entire original. Too often I end up
adding names and email addresses or cutting unnecessarily long messages.
    Thanks - Mark)

Messages to tictech fall into four general categories:
    1) Distribution of information - timely information critical to technology
    in Seattle's schools
    2) Requests for information - requests for help, advice, or feedback on
technical or instructional issues involving technology
    3) Sharing - letting list members know what's going on in classrooms, great
web sites, hardware/software reviews, educational technology in general,
    etc.
    4) Discussion and debate - of any of the above topics, to include questions,
    elaboration, suggestions, etc.

    Quick directions:
     * To post a message to the list, send it to tictech@learningspace.org
     * To subscribe, send a message to majordomo@learningspace.org, and in the
body of the message, type: subscribe tictech
     * To unsubscribe, send a message to majordomo@learningspace.org, and in the
body of the message, type: unsubscribe tictech

    Posting and Replying Guidelines:
    1) A REPLY to a list message will go to the whole tictech list. NOTE: If you
are using Outlook Web Access (OWA), a reply will go to the sender, NOT the
whole list. Just be sure the address you want is in the "To" field.
    2) Your name and email address must be included in messages posted to
    tictech.
    3) When replying to someone's message, include enough of the original
message so people will know exactly what you're responding to. Please do not
    include the entire original message.
    5) Not allowed: attachments, commercial advertisements, profanity, political
    agendas, flames, personal attacks, etc.
    6) Please post messages in plain text.

Tictech is not supported by or funded by the Seattle School District. The
Learning Space runs the software that powers the list, and it hosts the
archive of list messages. The Earth Day Groceries Project hosts the tictech
web site. Both are local nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations. Mark Ahlness, a
third grade teacher at Arbor Heights Elementary, volunteers his time as
moderator. All the above info and more can be found at tictech on the web:

your subscription, etc., contact Mark at mlahlness@seattleschools.org
