    Hi Tony,

Sorry I didn't get back to you sooner - it's been a difficult few days for
    me around here.

We have SmartBoards at Schmitz Park and we love them. We use them in our
Resource Room and in the Computer Lab. Our nurse uses it for her FLASH
presentation in the Spring. She has created her presentation in PowerPoint
form and simply touches the board to advance it to the next slide. The
presentation has a male/female drawing with labeled parts on a slide, and
the names of each part drops down to its label as she talks about each.
It's pretty cool, and makes the job much easier.

I use it all the time! It makes showing all my kids (K-5) how to use a
software program so much easier. I've also used it to teach internet
skills, and every other software program you can imagine! If a teacher gets
new software for their classroom computers, we teach it to the entire group
on the SmartBoard first. It saves the teachers a lot of time answering
questions in the classroom when the kids learn it together first (they can
help each other instead of interrupting the teacher who might be working
    with a smaller group).

I've used it to teach teachers in my building many of the same kinds of
things, and CWS maintenance and saving in places other than the server (our
teacher server crashed and burned twice this year and they lost everything).
We use it during staff meetings to present and determine our budget, and you
simply click and drag numbers around with your finger as the mouse pointer.
We rarely use an overhead projector anymore. We've used it during PTA
meetings. The possibilities are absolutely endless.

We use it with Inspiration and Kidspiration. SmartBoard Notebook software
allows you to create page after page of whatever you're working on and save
it to the computer and/or print it out. You never have to lose a
brainstorming session. I'm working with kids (3rd grade) on a Challenge
math program during my lunch hour and we're having a blast working out long
division. The kids love writing on the SmartBoard!

These are just a few of the things that pop into mind about SmartBoards, and
in a high school - wow! I would have a great time using one. Let me know
if you have more questions I can answer. And, you're welcome to come and
    see it in action :)

    Dear Tic Tech Folks,

Does anyone out there have experience with Smart Boards they would like to
pass on? I would be interested to know if someone has put this technology
to good use in a classroom and could say something about how it worked.

    Thanks,
    Tony
