--- TIC-TECH message:
Good question Mark. A tech staff person, full or half time in each building
depending on enrollment, is and will be a necessity. What school that has
50, 80 100 or 150 computers, networked as we all will be, can fully function
on the current system? Given the huge investments in technology we are
making and will continue to do, how can the "suits" not fund technology
coordinators in at least the same way libraries usually are staffed. It
would also be a mistake to only think in the A+ vein. It's not just
technicians keeping the hardware and software going. No, its much more,
which requires tech. savvy educators with a vision for the future and a
strong commitment to teaching. I won't go on for pages, it's just that this
subject doesn't get discussed in public as much as it should be.

Subject: Tic-Tech: building tech staff funding?
--- TIC-TECH message:
Does anyone know if there are plans to put any district money into tech
staff in each building? Hundreds of thousands, maybe millions, are
currently spent on salaries for support, maintenance, training, etc. from
the top down, but not one penny at the building level. Not necessarily
talking about a full time staff, but I AM talking some form of tech staff
funding in EACH building. Are there any plans for this? - Mark
