    --- TIC-TECH message:
There is no formal district web publishing policy. The district's lawyer is
now reviewing a proposed policy for web publishing and we hope to have this
    ready shortly.

Here are some generally accepted guidelines which have been reviewed by our
    legal group.

Don't publish identifiable photos of students without parental permission.
And you want to be even more certain to have written parental permission
before using a photo and a student's first name.

If you have a shot of a group of students, and you can not readily identify
any of them, it is ok to publish that, as long a you do not include names.

If you are publishing a student's written work, provide as little
information about the student author as possible. Usually this means only
providing the students first name on the written work.

If you are looking for a form to send home for parental approval, you can
use the standard release form we give all students in the fall. Just make
sure your cover note completely explains what information you want to put on
    your website.

If the parent's do not return a form that gives their written approval, do
not publish anything that provides any personal information about their
    child.

Hi there. Another lurker coming forward here. I have a website ready to go
to post student artwork and writing from my class, but I would like to know
what kind of a permission slip I need to create to have the students put
their work on the site. Does anyone else have a site with student work? What
is the protocol? Is there a district form? I am assuming if we credit a
student's work we use only first names (I am not planning on any last
    names,
anyway). but what about photos of kids doing projects and stuff. I want this
to be a site where parents can see their kids' class in action in a sense,
but I worry about privacy issues.

    Any suggestions?
