    --- TIC-TECH message:
Hello. There is a man from Burien (a construction worker) who took a break,
and went to Moldova with a group who visited orphanages. He had wondered
what he could do, besides pound a few nails. One day he found himself
surrounded by 250 boys whose heads were filled with lice. In their
innocence, all they wanted was to hug him, wrestle, hold his hand, hear
his (nervous) laughter, and see his encouraging smile.

He came back to Burien, a puzzled, broken man, and it took time for him to
recover from his culture shock. Then back on the job, sorting board
lengths and plumbing, it came to him that it was not only about building
buildings, but also about building lives.

Now he returns to Moldova twice a year, to the boys who look forward to
their "pappa from Burien, United States of America," their haircuts,
    delousing, one-on-one, hugs, and hope.

Huggs and wishbones to you all.
