The new system really does have more capability than cks. My main concern
backed up by more instance after instance of using this program is woe to
you if you is running this on a Pentium 90 (or its equivalent) It is
slower than frozen molasses. Bring a book or something else to do while
you are waiting for screen redraws, address your Christmas cards (never
too early to start<G>) or practice your deep breathing meditation
exercises to relieve your frustration. Or you can just pretend you are
sitting in your car on I-5 in the Renton S curves with two semis rolled
into each other causing a triple fatality while the State Patrol takes
measurements documentation.
For example, today I had another session in checking my email (all six new
ones) that lasted longer than some dates I have been on. But I was asking
myself the same question, namely, how did I get into this one in the first
place and how can I get out of it gracefully, heck how can I get out of it
period.
I could have used telnet ( I know that's dirty word to some here<G>) and
been in and out of all emails within 5% of the time for what it was worth.
But hey OWA (OWIE to me!) is progress and who am I to stand in th eway of
progress. My 1978 Volvo with 300,000 original miles hauls a** better than
OWIE on a Pentium 90.
So having said that I bow to the inevitable and embrace electronic
gridlock keeping in mind that it is the journey and not the destination
that is important. It's gonna be some LONG roads trips with OWIE.
Just what my girlfriend wants: me spending more time with those electrons
than with her<G>
So BTW can anybody tell me how to move my files from telnet pine to OWIE?
I see I have a 3 day weekend coming up and gosh I will be able to use
Monday if I need it as well to get the job done.
Accessed with telnet, written with telnet and sent by telnet<G>
