    --- TIC-TECH message:
    Hi tic-tech members,
On the eve of the eve of yet another memorable "Rules of the Road"
document, I wanted to take a bit of bandwidth to ask/plead/beg for the
    following:

    1) Sign your name AND email address at the end of each message - or
response - you send to tic-tech. I've been manually adding these for
some time. Many thanks to those of you who do this on your own - you
and I know who you are :)
    2) Do not send attachments, . < that says "period" back there.
    3) Send or reply to tic-tech in PLAIN TEXT only.
    4) Post information yourself rather than forwarding stuff for me to
post. If I forward messages to the list, quite often they are much less
readable. Additionally, it may appear to the casual observer that I'm
the one in the know, the contact, etc....

There, do I sound cranky, or what? Actually, I'm VERY excited and
encouraged by the discussions lately on tic-tech. It seems more folks
are shedding their "lurker" cloaks of invisibility (yes, I'm a Harry
Potter fan), and are joining in. And there are many announcements of
opportunities, offers to help, notices of problems, etc. The message
    archive (http://www.learningspace.org:88/hypermail/tictech/) shows 104
messages posted in January alone. This one will be 105. Wonderful,
    great!

Finally, I wanted to say thank you to Mike Donlin of the Challenge
Grant. Since last December he has been compensating me for my work here
as moderator. I had put in over a year on my own time - 'cause I love
this medium, and I think it's important. But really, it's also nice to
be paid for what you do - loving your work shouldn't be a penalty :)

Now, don't forget those four pleas at the beginning of this note. Hope
you all have a great second half! - Mark
