    --- TIC-TECH message:
    Hi all.

I am wondering what is the best way to keep
students out of a PC's system files.

Until recently I have labored under the
impression that I had been very clever about
locking down my desktops and folders where kids
read lesson instructions and save files. The weak
link has been the "My Computer" icon. Is there
a way to prevent students from getting into it?

Removing all items from The Desktop (I'm running
NT4) doesn't work for me as I really like to use
desk top icons to make it easy for kids to find
lesson instructions, their saved work, and to be
able to drop work off to drive mapped to their
    teachers folder.

I've also tried to use TweakUI to remove the C:\
drive from view, but the results are the same as
denying permission to students. The OS won't even
    load.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks.
