Subject: Fwd(2): Opening Classrooms to the World project

    A NOTICE FROM MONTE*********

Opening Classrooms to the World--A Free Videoconferencing Opportunity
    for Classrooms!

    Website is now open: http://www.etdc.wednet.edu/world

The goal of this project is to introduce districts to the use of
interactive videoconferencing in K-12 classrooms and the exciting
opportunities that it provides in enhancing the learning environment.
    Here are the details:

    · PSESD Network Services will install IP-based equipment for two weeks'
use in a classroom and give teachers some basic training on how
    to use the equipment.
    · PSESD Educational Technology will coordinate videoconference experiences
    for the classroom.
    · Videoconference sessions will include two or more district sites.
    · Curriculum will be provided and participants will help design the
    experience.
    · The classroom may use the equipment as they wish beyond the planned
session for the entire two weeks.

Participants may choose from a number of time slots through the end of
the school year. We will most likely continue the project into next
    year, as well.

If you have a teacher who would be interested in participating in this
project, please submit one classroom using the online application form.
Teachers with curricular activities that can be enhanced by the use of
video conferencing are encouraged to apply.

Deadline for applying: March 1, 2001.
