This past Saturday, 22 teams of students from the region brought their
technology-based projects together for the IT All-Stars competition at the
Microsoft Executive Briefing Center. For the past several months, these
teams, guided by a teacher and a mentor from the high-tech industry worked
to create innovative and original computer projects, learned to work in
teams and made the best use of technology resources available to them.
Teams from Seattle Schools claimed 6 of the 9 awards in this extremely
competitive event. The winning schools and projects are:
Adams-3rd place elementary---Nordic Heritage Museum promotional video using
Avid Cinema
Madrona-2nd place elementary---Who wants to be a Mental Millionaire, a web
page quiz
Aki Kurose---1st place middle school---Video
Rainier Beach---3rd place high school---2nd period TV production class
Cleveland High School---2nd place(tie) high school---Millennium Math, an
Internet teaching site
Franklin High School---2nd place(tie) high school---Hip Hop animated program
using flash
