    FACTS - AT-A-GLANCE

    What is CNNfyi.com?

CNNfyi.com is an interactive, multimedia news and information resource,
offering powerful educational content for middle and high school students
and teachers. Produced and written by journalists, teachers and students,
CNNfyi.com presents daily news and information in a unique, exciting context
students can understand, while making the material relevant for
    teachers.

A Powerful Partnership of News & Education Leaders CNNfyi.com is the first
Web site created by CNN specifically as an educational resource. The site
combines CNN's 20 years of worldwide journalism expertise with more than a
decade of first-hand classroom experience from Turner Learning, the
educational division of Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.

A unique partnership created CNNfyi.com, integrating high-tech, relevant
content, information and learning tools from education leaders Riverdeep
    Interactive Learning, Harcourt and HighWired.com.

    CNNfyi.com Student Edition

For students, CNNfyi.com offers news stories, historic video clips,
youth-specific topics, a homework help center with research and reference
tools, college resources, message boards and "Quick Vote" surveys. Students

of CNNSB, CNN's official student newsgathering and reporting program,
students worldwide create and submit news stories on topics of interest to
teens. CNNSB stories appear on CNNfyi.com, on CNN NEWSROOM, the network's
daily television news program for schools, and on the broader CNN
networks. More than 500 schools worldwide have applied to participate or
    are already involved with CNNSB.

day's top news and features, curriculum-specific lesson plans and
professional development opportunities. All lessons and activities are
correlated to national standards and can be integrated into various
    educational areas.

CNNfyi.com incorporates lesson plans and material from CNN NEWSROOM, the
network's award winning educational program. Teachers also have access to
daily education news, "Quick Vote" surveys, an editorial planning calendar
of upcoming features, information on educational conferences and links to
Web sites of interest to them.
