--- TIC-TECH message:
Regarding Internet speed, and the lack thereof. The good news is that there
are so many more students and teachers using the Internet in meaningful
ways. The other good news is that Judy and IS are working so hard to bring
the district the best service their systems will allow at this point.
Thanks for all your efforts, IS.

Subject: Tic-Tech: Update On Slow Internet Access
--- TIC-TECH message:
As we've all been very painfully aware, access to the Internet has continued
to be slow. The slowness is the result of far more connection attempts than
the Bess proxy boxes are rated to handle. That, in turn, is the result of
continuing progress to bring more schools on line and to connect more
computers to the network.
If all works as we hope, we will be installing an additional proxy box,
running a faster version of software, early next week. We expect the
additional server to significantly improve the speed of Internet access.
This is an interim solution while we continue to research filtering options.
Thanks,
Judy
