    --- TIC-TECH message:
There is now a new and easy way to find District Training and more of it!
Click the Professional Development link in the blue header at the very top
of just about any page at http://inside.seattleschools.org!

Information Services, Instructional Technology, and Professional Development
have started work on a 'common training menu' in order to make it easier to
seek District computer and non-computer training (Computer Applications,
Technology Integration, and Teaching & Learning). Our first version is now
    on-line!

At the very top of each page at http://inside.seattleschools.org is a blue
header that is common to just about every page on the 'inside' site. You
will find a new 'Professional Development' link in that header. On the main
page of 'inside', you will also see a 'Professional Development Training'
link in the left Navigation bar that also leads you to training.

Regardless of whose content you are looking at on 'inside', you will see the
same links in the blue header at the top of the page. We've replaced the
'Computer Training' link that has been there with a 'Professional
Development' link. The new link name does not represent the Professional
Development department specifically, rather, it represents the broad
assortment of training that might be available through the District.

The Professional Development page is intended to meet the following
objectives, though not all are completely implemented:

    * Create a common training menu for computer and non-computer training
    * Reduce the need for our District to navigate the differences among IS, IT,
and PD when looking for training opportunities
    * Enable on-line registration for Summer Institute 2001 classes!
    * Provide a space for other training organizations in the District to
    advertise and promote their training
    * Foster collaboration among training organizations

Please visit http://inside.seattleschools.org and click the 'Professional
Development' link in the blue header at the very top of the page. All of
    your feedback is worthwhile.

    Thanks,
    ~Rick Henry 206.252.0349
