--- TIC-TECH message:
Regarding school deployment of computers...
A few schools, some of them quite large, have had success with having
teachers/students pick up their boxes from the central storage area and
assembling them themselves. They found it helpful to demonstrate that
process in a meeting before asking people to do that.
Once the computers are in place, the analyst can come by and load the
software and connect each machine to the network.
A few schools have also had weekend or other non-student day work parties of
parents to deploy machines.

--- TIC-TECH message:
A request to schools who have already installed Levy computers. What
process/means did you use to actually place the computers in the classrooms
from the drop-off point? It is my understanding that these are delivered to
one spot, all at once, and that it is up to the building to place them where
they go.
At Hay, we will also have to move some older computers out of the way, so
this
is a lot of moving. I am thinking of a parent brigade to help, plus
sub-days
for tech commitee staff, because it sounds like a huge job. What has been
the
experience? Anything work really well? Thanks for any input.
