    --- TIC-TECH message:
I am responding to several questions regarding problems some folks are
    having with selected Dell computers.

Dell has recognized floppy drive problems on a certain batch of computers
received during the summer timeframe. These problems are related to bezel
friction. Other like problems may be related Mark's CD buttons.

All new Dell computers are purchased with next day three year onsite
warranty service. Dell has been very responsive to service requests. Most
of the Network Analysts and the Office Machine Repair (OMR) folks are Dell
certified. This means that they can call directly into the premium support
group and bypass the dreaded consumer line. In all cases, please do not
call Dell direct. Your time is valuable and we don't want you "on hold" for
hours trying to fix a floppy drive.

Please log a call via email to Helpdesk@seattleschools.org or call 252-0333,
or you may call Work Control directly at 252-0550 and we will have OMR or
our Network Analysts handle the problem for you. They can either call in
Dell to fix it or repair it themselves.

I hope this helps and if you have any problems please contact me at
    chwalker@seattleschools.org.

    Thanks!
