-tictech message:
Hi all,
We have several monochrome networked laser printers (HP 4050N and Brother
1270N) at our school and are generally very pleased with their performance
(and cost) over the older inkjets that were so common a few years ago.
For color printing, however, our situation is not as good. We have three old
HP color inkjets that do not support Ethernet. The quality is low, and the
ink is very expensive. We have one teacher who has an Epson 980N
ethernet-able color inkjet. She's had some trouble with it's networking
performance on Windows clients but has been otherwise happy with it (and the
ink cartidges are reasonably priced!)
I hate to buy 'disposable' home-style inkjets, and I can't afford the huge
color laser printers at over $1200. Does anyone have suggestions about
lower-cost ethernet-able color printers?
Thanks in advance.
