Oh well Graham, you're no fun at all. I had hoped to have a least a little
head-scratching among Tic-Tech folks. But hopefully, the point is made that
the Linux desktop has arrived and not only is it a friendly place, it can
even run Windows applications with the right accoutrements installed. Below
you can find another screen shot of the same Xandros Linux distribution that
reveals just a bit more of its native character. Even so, notice how
familiar and intuitive the interface is for us Windows users.

For good measure, here is a shot of another Linux Windows-style desktop that
is comfortable and pretty. It sits on our table top at home and is easily
shared with a non-Linux user. Switching from Windows was easy. The
original Windows drive was left in place, another drive was added and
Lycoris Linux loaded onto it. Because Linux can read Windows drives,
shortcuts to the Windows My Documents and other folders were placed onto the
Linux desktop. All items are saved onto the original Windows drive via
these shortcuts so that everything is in place and can be accessed from
either OS. The Lycoris distribution, the Mozilla Browser, Open Office and
KOffice applications that are shown are all 100% free.

Cake. It's X Windows under Linux with a Windowse style window manager.
Microsoft Office and QuickTime are running via Crossover, which allows
    Win32
binaries to run under XFree86. Crossover basically maps the Win32 API
    calls
    to their XFree86 equivilents.
