Mark,
regarding the question about filter software for parents with young
children -- I do not have a recommendation for a specific product but the
following are worth looking at, and I think most provide a free trial:
Cyber Patrol www.microsys.com
Cyber Snoop www.pearlsw.com
Cybersitter www.solidoak.com
Net Nanny www.netnanny.com
A search on the Internet will find many more, but these are a few that I
have heard about from other folks.

Hi All,
More and more often lately, parents ask:
1) do you want our old computer for your classroom?
2) what internet filter do you recommend?
I'd like to develop a couple of informational flyers our school could give
to parents. Regarding the old computer question, I'm assuming their old
computer will just be TOO old to be useful in our school - and probably
should be recycled or disposed of properly. So I'm looking for a list of
names, phone numbers, addresses of cheap, local companies. Regarding
internet filters, I'm looking for something besides "get AOL" - specifically
for families with young children. Any great local places or recommended
filter software? Thanks in advance - Mark
