    --- TIC-TECH message:
    Dear Folks,

We have been assured that the district will offer support for Macs. This
has been welcome news for many. There are a number of people at my school
would like to continue using Macs when we upgrade our computers for
    teachers.

However, the best information I can get is that the coming student
information system will support PCs, and may or MAY NOT support Macs.
Purchasing thousands of dollars of computers for teachers which won't
access the district student information system doesn't sound wise.

So as we work on the building Technology Plan for our school do I advise
our staff that Macs are out-of-the-question, or do I tell them that they
will be supported by the district and we can go ahead and purchase them?

I get different answers depending on who I ask... so now I am asking all
    of you.

By way of suggestion, it would seem that making access to this database
via the web would solve these issues... IF our web access can be made fast
enough that people don't experience undue frustration.

    Thanks for your input.
