(moderator's note: Kurt did ask for input to him personally, and some
are sending replies to the list. I will post replies to the list for
a bit, as some may want to say their two bits directly to the masses,
and I figure there may be both interest and expertise on this issue
amongst tic-tech members. If you intend to write your response to Kurt
only, please address your reply to bluesky@scn.org - ma)

Do you plan to have a projection device for teaching?

If so, where will the projector be? At the back of the room?

It is my opinion that in an elementary school the students sit at computers
in rows and the instructor is in the back standing next to the projector.
That way s/he can see everyone.

Basically the setup is like a traditional classroom with the instructor in
    back instead of in front.

    --- TIC-TECH message:
Hi--The Green Lake PTA Tech Committee (of which I am a member) is
considering a major revamping of its computer lab. I am drafting a floor
plan of the lab and need a few approximate measurements ASAP (of course).

We propose the installation perimeter countertops with a double-wide
countertop island in the middle of the room. Measurements are needed for:

            1) CPU footprints (towers NOT on floor; either/both PC/Mac)

            2) Countertop widths (we do NOT plan on keyboard trays)

            3) Countertop heights (suggestions as to variable heights,
e.g. one length of countertop 4-6 inches lower than rest,
or all identical. If latter, how high?)

            4) ADA measurements for separate 2 or 3 station table.

            5) Other sage advice will be greeted with open arms!

I appreciate your attention to this request. Please reply to me. If
others are interested in responses, I can summarize them for the list.

    Thanks again.
