Sean et al,
The projector through Troxell that you refer to isw the Hitachi CPS-225 for
$2099. It is a new model that took the place of the CPS-845, that was
purchased by many schools. The new model is nearly two pounds lighter,
brighter(1100 lumens as opposed to 1000), and less expensive. There are a
number of schools (mostly through TLP teachers) that have purchased Hitachi
projectors, and all the feedback I have gotten is positive.
Hitachi also makes a projector that is not quite as bright(8-900 lumens) but
has a very short throw distance (this means it can project a larger image
and sit closer to the screen). Troxell supplies this as well for I believe
around $1900.

--- TIC-TECH message:
Over the past year, I have been researching various options for putting a
computer screen image on a large screen for student or staff use. My two
biggest issues have been cost and brightness of the image.
I recently spoke with Bob Berry at Troxell Communications and he informed me
that there is an agreement between the district and Troxell for a projector
with 1100 lumens (a measure of brightness) and a cost of $2,099. (The
manufacturer escapes me).
Has anyone out taken advantage of this offer? If so, what has been your
experience with the unit?
Thank you.
