Ditto on Mark's comments. In spite of the concerns that have been mentioned
(and despite my previous comment, money isn't a large one for me), the
opportunity for staff from different schools to participate in a group of
this kind sounds great. I hope I will be able to attend the meetings.
Sometimes it's easy to see iniquity and problems and lose sight of the
larger good. Nathan Hale is getting its CWS rollout right on the heels of
our wiring implementation. There have been some problems: ports not
working, some people feeling "left out" of the CWS rollout, platform
grumbles, and a few technical failures. But to me, it's as if a series of
large miracles have descended on our school. Most of the wiring works, and
most of the staff have received wonderful machines and good training to go
with them. Most of all, a group of dedicated people in both IS and IT have
been very present and responsive to problems when they have arisen.
I am really impressed at what the District is attempting regarding
technology implementation.
