    Hi Mark,

I am a 2nd grade teacher at Stevens and the tech. specialist.

Our roll-out was difficult, but the training was useful. For almost a month
our CWS's would regularly lock up (4-5 times each day) requiring a reboot
each time. Basically IS learned it was a "bad image." In other words, the
format of software and communication with hardware was incorrect. Hopefully,
you will not experience the same. All stations are working well now that
    each has been re-imaged..

Another difficulty for us was printer use. The district will only support
printers with network cards. Those are expensive and everyone wanted to
print in their classroom rather than having to walk to another room to pick
up a printed dicument. We did not have the money for that many network
printers. That is an issue you can discuss with your network technician for
a resolution. There are less expensive ways to make typical desk-jet
    printers into network printers.

On the positive side, we have more teachers reading E-mail now than ever
before. More teachers are slowly but surely developing web pages and
incorporating computers into their lessons. On the whole, I think most of us
are grateful for the machines. Unfortunately, we cannot install unauthorized
software or printers on the CWS but we knew that going in.

    Hi All,
My school is getting its new teacher workstations soon - January. Wondered
if anybody has words of wisdom to share - things that went well, things to
look out for, etc. We're trying to anticipate needs, so that we get the
maximum use out of these machines as soon as we can. I've done a little
asking around, but figured there must be lots more to learn from those who
have been through the process. Thanks - Mark
