    Hello,

I have a question for the school techs. First off, I'm sure there are plenty
of you that don't know me, I'm the tech specialist over here at Aki Kurose.
I've been here for about a year now, and am constantly working to get the
school running more smoothly when it comes to our technology. One of the
issues I've been working on for the past few months is trying to get a
priority system in place, along with getting a more efficient ticket system
going. Right now I'm constantly being snagged, called, dropped in on....all
of which is fine, but not very efficient. I have little paper slips for
people to fill out, but them being used are the exception, not the rule.

To the school techs: is this the way your schools operate? Anyone ever try
out Altiris Helpdesk Solution? Or any other helpdesk programs? I was really
close to getting our building to purchase a program like this that had a
little web form for staff to fill out....figured I could kind of operate
like the helpdesk does, only on a much smaller scale. We were looking at a
few different programs, and I had purchasing approval..... until the rumor
started that schools would soon be incorporated into the HEAT system.

Any insight you guys could give would be great!!!!

P.S. - completely unrelated, there is 10 days left on Apple's "free OS X
10.2 Jaguar for Teachers" I sent an email to all of our staff, and about 15
of them filled the thing out. I've got a nice big stack of OS X sitting
here on my desk. (I'll have to open a ticket for myself so I can have time
    to upgrade some machines :-))
