    This is an issue documented way back to the fall of 2001, when we had this
    on our new student levy computers at our school and mentioned it on this
    list. It was a huge problem. Our own solution was to just rip off the
    poorly designed CD covers. Who's got time to wait for an analyst or Dell
    tech support, anyway? We have had no problems since. I would recommend the
    same for folks still having this problem.

    Wes, thanks very much for your advice. But I wish this fear of speaking up
    would just go away. It's an unhealthy culture where people are afraid of
    expressing themselves, questioning policy, or suggesting alternatives. -
